How I will support you

I will ring you to introduce myself and arrange a time I can come and meet you, and the most important people who knew your loved one the best. 

Before we meet in person, I will send you over the areas and topics we might talk about, so, if you feel able, you can read this in advance and know in advance what our time together will cover. 

 I will come and visit you at a place you feel comfortable, surrounded by those you’ve invited who knew your loved one best.  We will talk about everything and anything that comes to mind when you think of your person.  Stories will flow, memories shared and photos poured over, as I get to know your person and get a real feel of what they gave to the world and those they held dear. 

We will talk about any readings you would like, music to be played and visual tributes to celebrate the photographs taken in that lifetime.  I will work with you to create an Order of Service that you feel happy with, and work with the Funeral Director to ensure the ceremony meets your every expectation. 

I will then write a unique ceremony, that truly captures your loved one.  I will send this to you, whether you want to see it written or on a voice recording – so, if you want to and feel able to, you can hear how the service will sound.   So that we get the service as perfect for your loved one as possible, I welcome feedback and edits, discussing the ceremony with you, until we get it just right. 

Trust in me that I will be there for you and your loved one.  I will liaise with the Funeral Director, ensure everything is setup how you would wish, and to offer support and guidance to those who wish to read or give a tribute. I will deliver the ceremony full of the warmth and love you had for your person.  

The funeral is one step in the journey of grief, and my support does not stop as the ceremony doors close.  I will send you a commemorative copy of the funeral, so that in time, in the words of Christina Rossetti, you may “remember and smile”.
